This year’s conference featured noted presenters such as Patrick Arbore, Nancy Lewin, John Ratey, Katherine Freund and others, covering such topics as Caregiving, Brain Health, Mobility and many others.

Aging in Place, At Home Most older adults prefer to stay in their homes as long as possible. This session will explain how this is achievable and affordable, and will explorethe demographics of the “age wave” in our country. The fundamentals of home care services are not complex, but understanding them is critical to making confident decisions about home care.. This session will share statistics that provide perspective on aging, clear and concise information about home care, and guidance on choosing and paying for home care. Attendees will leave with information to use for their own families and/or their clients and resources for future reference.

Objectives:
Participants in this session will:

  1. Learn the definition of home care–what to expect, what not to expect.
  2. Hear statistics on the aging demographics to form context.
  3. Explore the allied services available and essential for making staying at home a reality.
  4. Understand the various costs associated with home care, as well as the existing funding sources.
  5. Gain insight on the selection the most desirable home care provider(s).
  6. Obtain information on resources for researching various providers of services.
