Description:

Organic production requires that ruminants spend time out on pasture. Numerous studies have shown that going beyond the minimum and incorporating grazing as an important component of the ration enhances the profitability of dairies and produces high quality milk with numerous health benefits to the consumer.

On July 20th, join a group of grazing specialists and farmers Tim and Melissa Dobberphul for an organic pasture tour. Learn how management intensive grazing has become an integral part of the Dobberphul's successful organic operation.

Farmers who are considering organic dairy can learn how grazing fits into the whole organic system. Conventional farmers can learn more about incorporating grazing into their farm systems.
