Description:
This year, the NCSU Turfgrass Field Day will be held at the Lake Wheeler Turfgrass Field Lab. Topics will cover a variety of turf issues including: sod production, lawn care and maintenance, sports turf management, golf, environmental issues, and more. Research advancements on insect, weed, and disease pests will be addressed, and Dr. Susana Milla-Lewis, the new NCSU turf breeder, will be on site for everyone to meet. As part of a very special celebration of his 26 years here, the faculty and staff will send its own Dr. Art Bruneau off to his well earned retirement with the Inaugural Art Bruneau Golf Tournament Fundraiser at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, followed by a dinner and “Art Roast”. Proceeds of these events will benefit turfgrass research through the NC Agricultural Foundation. If you are one of the many extension specialists, students, faculty or turf professionals that Art has touched over the years, please take this opportunity to visit with him at field day, play the new golf course, eat, and help us send Dr. Bruneau off in style while helping raise funds for scholarships and research. http://www.turffiles.ncsu.edu/Calendar/FieldDay/default.aspx
