Description:
The 2008 Virginia GIS and Remote Sensing Research Symposium will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 on Friday, April 4th, 2008 in the Olin Preston room at the Holiday Inn in Blacksburg. In addition to providing a venue to share information about recent advances in geographic information systems and remote sensing applications in Virginia, this meeting will feature opportunities to interact with colleagues, students, and government and industry representatives from across the state who are interested in geospatial information technology. Attendees will  Learn about new technologies and new applications of existing technologies,  Learn about new data sources and the availability of data in Virginia, and  Meet potential new employees/employers. The meeting will focus on interaction among participants and the sharing of data, applications, and techniques.
