COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course will provide practical information on the planning, design and construction of horse farms, facilities and fences. Participants will have an opportunity to learn from a group of nationally known professionals with years of experience in the construction of equine facilities. Special features include presentations on ventilation, lighting, fire safety, waste management, site preparation, fence selection and the design and construction of barns for different uses and much more. This course is a must for the professional or recreational horse owner, contractor or architect interested in developing a new horse facility or renovating existing structures. Lecture handouts and manuals will be provided. Participants successfully completing the course will receive 0.7 Continuing Education Units from NCSU. FEES: The short course registration fee of $65.00 must be postmarked prior to January 26, 2009 deadline date. A $25.00 late fee will be charged to participants registering after the deadline date.
