Another run-of-the-mill fire ant conference? Not this year, podner! Since the 2009 meeting is in Oklahoma and Oklahoma is Cowboy Country, we're aimin' for a "Fire Ant Roundup." The meeting is scheduled for April 6-9, 2009, at the Crowne Plaza in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City has much to offer: Bricktown with lots of restaurants, local breweries, the canal rides, and other sites; the Oklahoma City Memorial bombing site (we may have an evening private tour of the museum); National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum; Stockyards City; Myriad Botanical Gardens, and in keeping with the Old West, cowboy theme, we're hoping to round up a chuckwagon feed.
