Why are my tomato leaves curling? What can I do?

Related resource areas: Gardens, Lawns & Landscapes

Curling tomato leaves are not necessarily a sign that you are doing anything wrong. We've seen this happen many times and have never been able to associate a disease or any serious problem with the curling. It may well be hot days that are causing the leaf curl, or leaf roll. If the leaves look "normal" at 6 in the morning but are curled by noon, heat is the likely cause. Make sure your tomatoes have plenty of moisture, but do not overwater.
