You'll find edible soybeans to be very tasty and worth the effort of experimenting with a new vegetable in your garden. Don't worry about the small beans just yet. First the pods develop, then the beans. As long as you harvest before the plants begin to yellow, you'll be fine. Make sure they're getting enough water (at least 1 inch a week), and keep an eye out for soybean aphids. Edamame crops can be devastated by these pests.
