Can I use an agricultural grade fertilizer on my lawn, or do I need to use specialty, garden center products?
Agricultural grade fertilizers are much less expensive than specialty fertilizers and can provide the same nutrients. However, there are several benefits to the specialty fertilizers that may justify their expense. Specialty fertilizers normally contain good nutrient ratios for turf, have very uniform particle sizes, and have low burn potential. In addition, homeowners do not need to make calculations in order to use the product, since calibration and application rate information is printed on the bag.
