View as web page

The normal body temperature of a horse is 100.5o Farenheit (99-101o F range). The normal pulse rate is 35 beats per minute (bpm) (30-40 bpm range). The normal respiration is 8-16 breaths per minute. These can all be affected by exercise, environmental conditions, level of excitement, fitness level, and disease. It is important to know the "normal" measurements for your horse so that you will be able to identify a change.
