Plants adjacent to your home can pose a considerable threat to whether your house can survive a wildfire. All vegetation, including naturally occurring native plants and ornamental plants in the residential landscape, is potential wildfire fuel. If vegetation is properly managed, ignition from blowing embers will be less likely, and the approaching flames will be less able to spread, will slow down, and will produce less heat, all of which contribute to a house surviving a wildfire.
