The Federal Equal Pay Act of 1963 protects men and women from sex-based wage discrimination if they perform substantially equal work, requiring equal skill, effort, and responsibility, under similar working conditions in the same establishment. Violations of this Act should be reported to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Institutions that receive substantial funds from federal agencies may also contact the federal agency providing funding for assistance with this kind of discrimination. Usually institutions have an Affirmative Action, Diversity, or Human Resource Officer who may investigate such situations to ensure compliance with this Act.
Unlike most other resources on the web, we have experts from Universities around the country ready to answer your questions.
