What happens if I want to end my car lease early?

Last Updated: October 08, 2009

You can return your car earlier than the lease term; however, be prepared to pay an early termination charge and possibly other fees. Carefully read through the lease contract before signing it to understand all the penalties that will be charged if the car is returned early. If there is a chance the lease would have to be ended early, you may want to consider buying a car instead of leasing.
