What should I do if I suspect my animal has a reportable disease?

Call your local veterinarian first. Your veterinarian has been trained to identify, test for, and diagnose animal diseases. If your veterinarian is concerned that your animal may have a reportable disease, such as a foreign animal disease, he or she will know whom to contact for additional testing and control measures.
