Chemical application equipment should be stored in a locked building or securely fenced area. Lock cabs and remove keys from chemical application equipment at night or when not in use. This includes tractors, self-propelled sprayers, nurse trucks, and other related equipment. Also be sure to lock access to all tanks and pumps. Keep the keys in a secure place.
Sprayer tanks and nurse tanks can be maliciously and easily contaminated with an herbicide, such as glyphosate, which could damage hundreds of acres of crop. Always properly secure and store all chemicals and dispose of empty containers properly. Keep your chemical mixing and loading site clean when not in use.
Unlike most other resources on the web, we have experts from Universities around the country ready to answer your questions.
