Do fire ants help control cotton insects?

In many cases fire ants are considered beneficial to cotton because they feed on the eggs from bollworms and budworms. If you have aphids however you may have a different opinion. The fire ants feed on the honey dew produced by the aphids and often protects the aphid populations from predators.
