The Energizing Entrepreneurs program, developed by the Rural Policy Institute and the Heartland Center for Leadership Development, provides local leaders with the training and tools for building a community plan that is supportive of entrepreneurship development. E2 includes information on how to make a case about entrepreneurship as a viable local/regional economic development strategy, as well as training on how to target entrepreneurs who can best help the community reach its long-range community and economic development goals. The program also focuses on increasing the pipeline of local entrepreneurs, such as fostering youth entrepreneurship and planning ahead to support future business succession opportunities.
