SARE is Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education. This program is part of of USDA's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES), in partnership with land-grant universities around the country. (There are four regional coordinating hosts for this program.)
SARE funds projects with universities, the Extension Service, and farmers and conducts outreach to farmers to improve agricultural systems. It provides grants and information to improve profitability, stewardship, and quality of life in agricultural systems.
