Medicaid is a program administered by your state that may offer health care services to persons who have limited income, are pregnant, and/or persons with disabilities.

In general, Medicaid eligibility is determined based on personal assets and income. There are eligibility requirements for the numerous categories of eligible people.

General information on who is eligible can be found at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MedicaidEligibility/.

However, since Medicaid is administered through state governments, contact your local county Extension office for a referral. In most states, you should be able to dial 2-1-1 from your home telephone for assistance and referral in your area.
