Information on trends in outbreaks is available at the Centers for Disease Control Web site at www.cdc.gov/mmwr/ . Click on surveillance summaries, and then look for those of interest: "Surveillance for Foodborne Disease Outbreaks" or "Surveillance for Waterborne Disease Outbreaks, " etc. Trends for the previous year are reported, and the running pattern of outbreaks is also reported for both drinking water and recreational water.
