Some states support state-specific software. Check with the regulatory or NRCS office in your state, depending on the purpose of developing a plan, to inquire if they recommend or require any specific software. There may be specific software tools for phosphorus index calculations or other state-specific requirements.
One widely available option is Manure Management Planner (MMP), currently available in 34 states. It has been customized for the states that it serves; therefore, you will find the crops, soil fertility recommendations, and animal data relevant to your state when you utilize this program. The program can generate a cropping plan and other documentation that meets EPA and national NRCS requirements. The program also can generate state-specific documents for many of the supported states. MMP can be found at Purdue Manure Management Planner.
