How can I get started with my goal of "taking better care of myself as a caregiver"?

After setting this goal, make an action plan. An action plan is an agreement or contract with yourself that will help you reach your goal. It has several parts.

First, it should be something you want to do, not something you or someone else thinks you should do.

Second, it should be easy to complete during the next week.

Third, it should be behavior-specific. The more specific you are the better.

Fourth, ask yourself the following questions: What are you going to do? How much are you going to do? When will you do this? How often will you do the activity? On a scale of 0-10, how confident are you that you will accomplish your entire action plan during the next week? (Encourage success by selecting actions that you can rate 6 or better).
