How much water will a lactating beef cow drink on a daily basis?

Related resource areas: Beef Cattle

Water intake varies with temperature, milk production, and cow size. For example, a lactating beef cow will require 11 gallons in January. That same cow will require 17.5 gallons in June. Remember that these are only estimates and, depending on your environmental conditions, the amount the cow actually consumes will vary.
