Grazing probably is restricted for eight weeks following application. Both glyphosate and 2,4-D have numerous formulations. Each formulation can have its own length of grazing restriction, so read the label or ask a company representative for your specific formulation. According to the University of Nebraska 2003 Guide for Weed Management, most 2,4-D formulations have zero- to seven-day restrictions before grazing with beef cattle. The Roundup Ultramax formulation of glyphosate has an eight-week grazing restriction following a broadcast application. Most other glyphosate formulations will be similar.

Have a question? Try asking one of our Experts
On Saturday I sprayed a field of alfalfa and grass mixed with 2,4-D and glyphosate. I was wondering if I could let pairs graze off the growth as it is dying? Over the weekend we got an inch of rain if that makes any difference.
