How long has cotton been grown in the US?

Reportedly, cotton was first grown in Savannah, GA, in the "'Trustees' Garden". The 'Trustees Garden' comes from Georgia's origin as a penal colony, meaning prisoners and others were sent there, in the 1700s. For more information, visit History of Cotton.
