When is cotton planted?

In the United States it depends on where you are located in the Cotton Belt. Producers in south Texas plant cotton as early as February. In Missouri and other northern parts of the Cotton Belt, they plant as late as June. Some cotton can even be doublecropped following wheat in the extreme southern regions of Alabama,Georgia,Mississippi and Louisianna.
