RFP stands for "request for proposal." An RFP is an invitation for an individual or firm to submit a proposal to supply a service or product to the entity that has issued the RFP. Generally, the RFP offers specific guidelines on type of information that the provider must include in the proposal, including the type of businesses or communities that are eligible to apply for the contract or funding.
