The accuracy of a map produced from a GIS is determined by the accuracy of the spatial data used to create that map. The best way to determine the accuracy of the data is to view its metadata. The accuracy of the entire map is the same as the accuracy level of the least accurate spatial data set. If metadata are missing for any of the data sets, then it may be impossible to determine the accuracy of the map.
