Anti-semitism was promoted by the success of the Russian Revolution in 1917 due to Jews association with communism and war profiteering. As time went on, the eugenics projects and Nazi ideology promoted anti-semitism and gave way to general xenophobia of immigrants. Today, anti-semitism is primarily promoted through stereotypes of the Jewish faith and their work ethic, for example that they are stingy business men, wealthy, or care only for themselves which does not accurately reflect all people who hold the Jewish faith. Fear of the unknown and lack of knowledge are also great contributors to anti-semitic feelings.
