The testicles usually arrive in the scrotum by the tenth month after birth, but occasionally they are not fully down until the 12th or 15th month. After 15 months of age, colts are considered cryptochids if the testes have not descended. It would be advisable to have a veterninarian come out and determine if the testicles have descended and what action should be taken if they have not.
