A mission statement is a concise yet inclusive statement about your business. It defines the principle of what business you are in, who you serve, and what your guiding principles are. The most common audience for a mission statement includes customers, employees, management team, and even yourself, the business owner. Once written, a mission statement should be placed where others will be able to see it--include it on business cards and brochures and anyplace else customers and employees can see it. On occasion it is a good idea to review the mission statement to be certain that it still reflects your business accurately.
