Be careful what you ask for! Many newcomers to Colorado want to attract mule deer but six months later, they want to get rid of them. It is illegal to feed deer in Colorado with salt blocks, bails of hay or other food. In addition, deer will feed on fruit trees and other desirable plants especially in the winter months when food is scarce. Rather than trying to attract deer to the yard, it is best to enjoy deer naturally as they pass through the nearby fields and pastures.
