Fetuses that have been aborted are usually small, sometimes hairless, expelled before term, stillborn or weak calves that don’t survive. Abortions that occur in first or second trimester may be very difficult to observe. Occasionally, fetal membranes and fluids may be noticed hanging from the vulva or on the ground. However, these are only chance sightings.
