There are several things you can do to prevent cattle from developing heatstroke. First, during the summer months, work cattle during the cooler morning hours. Also, sprinkle cattle down with water if they start to show signs of heat stress. You also need to provide shaded areas for cattle to get under during the heat of the day. Ample clean water needs to be made available to the animals. If animals must be confined to barns, set up fans or water misters to help keep cattle cool.
