What are some signs that my calves have navel ill?

One- to 3-week-old calves with a swollen, painful navel that occasionally drains pus might have navel ill. These same animals might also have swollen joints. Affected animals are moderately depressed and will usually have a fever. Consult your veterinarian if you believe that your calves are suffering from this condition.
