My parents need help in their decisions about medical and pharmacy plans. They live in a town without a drug store, and the nearest doctor is 35 miles away. How can they find assistance?

I would start by checking out your state’s department on aging Web site to see if there is helpful information there. Also, check with your local Area Agency on Aging ( www.n4a.org) to see if the agency has someone who can answer questions related to medical/pharmacy plans.

Additionally, if their specific concern is with Medicare Part "D" (the prescription drug benefit), they may access information through www.medicare.gov. The information on this site will help them determine their eligibility, availability in their area and provide cost estimates for prescription drug coverage.
