FAQ #36225

I’d like to hire someone to stay with my mother, who currently lives with me. She’s able to care for herself, but because of her poor memory she’s fearful when alone for long periods of time. She still has a vacation home in another town, and if I could find someone to stay with her there I could get a break. I can’t find anyone who will move in on a temporary basis, and my mom won’t stay with anyone she doesn’t know.

Call for local resources, which may include your local Community Action Agency. Another resource to check with would be the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
