Feeds vary as a result of differences in soil fertility and growing conditions, harvesting, processing, and storage. Feed nutrient variation can also be a result of sampling technique and laboratory differences. Feeds that have a lot of variation in dry matter and nutrient content should be analyzed frequently and limited in diets in order to reduce nutrient variation and unbalanced rations.
