Individuals who pledge their support to a farm operation, so that the farmland becomes either legally or philosophically, the community’s farm, with growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production.
There area three basic types of CSA’s and they include:
1) The farmer owns all of the land and equipment. The farmer does all of the work and the members provide capital by buying a share
2) The farmer owns the land and equipment and the members provide capital and are an important part of the labor force
3) The land and equipment are owned by the CSA and the members of the CSA are responsible for doing all of the work
