I am a 17-year-old student who is also employed. Can I apply for an auto loan without a co-signer?

In most states, you must be at least age 18 to sign a contract for a loan. People of any age may also need a co-signer because they have little or no credit history. Co-signers are required on loans when a lender has determined that an applicant does not have enough income or the credit rating necessary to make a purchase alone.
