Yes. California, for example, has adopted the Wildland-Urban Interface Building Standards, which apply to new construction in designated wildfire-prone areas (see www.osfm.fire.ca.gov). This standard is Chapter 7A of the California Building Code. The National Fire Protection Association (i.e., NFPA 1144: Standard for Reducing Structure Ignition Hazards from Wildland Fire) and the International Code Council (i.e., International Wildland-Urban Interface Code) also have codes that can be adopted by state or local jurisdictions.
