At a minimum, you should be looking for a multi-pane window with at least one tempered pane. A window with two panes made of tempered glass would provide better performance. Windows with a “20-minute” rating would provide even better performance. The advantage to the 20-minute rating is that it indicates a fire test was conducted on the entire window (that is, glass, frame, sill, etc.). It is important to remember that even the most "fire-safe" window is useless if it is open when the wildfire reaches the home.
