Should I seed my burned area for erosion control?

Though not the most effective treatment, grass seeding is the one most commonly used after a wildfire. Success is highly dependent on the timeliness of grass seed application, choice of seed mix, applicator skill, protection from grazing, and luck in getting gentle rains to germinate seed before wind or heavy rain blows or washes the seed away. Oftentimes, the most successful grass crops are where they are needed the least — at the bottom of the hill.
