Information and education can be invaluable in coping with the aftermath of a wildfire for individuals and families. Topics can range from fire ecology to handling insurance claims. A lot of written resources about homes and land, and some self-help publications about strengthening personal abilities to cope, are available. Family physicians and mental health professionals should be consulted when any difficulties pose mental or physical health problems.
