My employer signed our small business up for a 401(k) plan with 3% matching several years ago. He still has not contributed any money to the plan. I was let go two months ago. What can I do to recover the match that I should have received?

At this point, you probably need to consult an attorney with expertise in employment case law. The more documentation that you have to prove that your employer promised the matching 3%, the better. Unfortunately, if the employer has fallen on hard times, as evidenced by your layoff, it may be difficult to recoup the money that was promised. A lawyer can best advise you on how to proceed to attempt to recover the money.
