No. For public health and safety reasons, evacuation shelters generally do not accept animals. However, due to the federal Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act (PETS), many communities have made plans to locate a pet shelter near the public shelter. These shelters may not accept exotic or aggressive animals, so investigating these issues should be part of your pre-fire planning.
