How long will it take for someone to develop a credit score with the credit bureaus after getting their first credit card?

According to several national credit experts, making on-time payments on a credit card or loan over a period of six months should provide enough of a credit history to develop a credit score. To earn the highest score possible, always make at least the required minimum payment by the due date.
