What is custodial grandparenting?

In a custodial grandparenting relationship, grandparents have legal custody of their grandchildren; they provide daily care and decision making. Custody is awarded by a court and generally is provided when a parent is unable or unwilling to care for his or her child. Custody can be reversed by a court.
