What are some good online places to buy used books?

There are a number of sites specializing in used books. Some sites search commercial Web sites to find books available from different sellers. Some are companies selling used books themselves (for example, Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon, and others act as agents for other sellers such as Amazon and AbeBooks). Here are some examples of these sites (no endorsement intended or implied):

alibris.com

addall.com

abebooks.com

amazon.com

half.com

powells.com

Check out more than one site. There are usually price differentials that can be in your favor. Make sure you check out the shipping costs, which are usually added to the price of the book.
