FAQ #5437

Have a question? Try asking one of our Experts

The foliage of my potato plants is distorted, rolled, and not as thrifty as it should be. Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Leaf distortion and curled edges may mean that the plant has a virus. There are several viruses that attack potatoes. Virus spread to plants through wounds made from insects or mechanical damage and infected seed sources. Monitor for pests in the garden and avoid damaging or stressing plants. Always plant certified seed pieces. Contact your local Extension office for more information on potato diseases.
